The world's economy is consuming the Earth's resources far faster than the planet's capacity can sustain it.

Global environmental degradations are worsening. The impacts of global climate change are already starting to increase global environmental damage.

• Citizens of small island nations are watching their beloved ancestral homes disappearing into the oceans.
• The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that over one million Africans have already died due to climate change-related events such as droughts and floods.

Let's be clear about this. The voiceless, blameless generations to come are going to inherit a damaged planet.

While there is some concern about leaving our descendants a legacy of economic debt, the legacy of ecological debt is not being addressed.

Generations not yet born have no rights and many of today's most influential decision makers believe themselves to be at liberty to plunder the planet without limit.

This may be hard to believe, but it's true! We call it progenycide.

Future generations have no rights under our legal and economic systems. That's right — our economics and our laws specifically deny all rights to future generations.

Hardly any wonder, then, that the planet is being exploited to exhaustion. We aim to change that.

The survival of humanity is threatened. We aim to change that, too.
